Robert Flint is an immigrant from Flintshire, in Wales living in the eighteenth century America in wilderness of near the Mohawk River. During his delivery business in Albany, New York, he marries at a farily young age to Joanna Bowman, and they lived on Gallow Hills, and began a family. Robert soon becomes a pioneer, and a businessman known for his honesty, wisdom, and courage. In a few years, Robert, Joanna, and their two sons move up the Mohawk River to a place called Sprout Brook, which is four miles from Cherry Valley. Here he builds his home, and buys nearly one thousand acres. Here is where they had three more sons, and soon the French and Indian War would begin. Robert soon becomes an involved patriot, along with very close friends Ben Wells, and a Mohawk Indian, named Coopernol, where they both participate with the British during the French and Indian War. When the American Revolution began, Robert, Ben, and Coppernol were scouts, and fought in many battles throughout New York, as well as Canada. As Roberts five sons were of age they would were well known, and called 'The Five Fighting Flints, ' among the Mohawk Valley militia. Roberts five sons all fought, and survived the terrible battle at Oriskany. Their names are edged upon the monument that is there today. This book is 90% fact, as I did five years of research on Robert Flint, and his family. The times, and battles are as accurate as I could find.

Although fraught with self-doubt, Allan would soon find himself speaking from his soul to all the people from the St. Lawrence River, to the Ohio, and Pennsylvania frontiers. He would make enemies, but brotherly friendship with the Mohawk Indians before, and after the French and Indian War drew him into conflict that would devide two great nations into a bitter, bloody war. His experience created, and transcended all he had known before, he became a new man, and a new leader. In time he would speak of the future, and knew this would be a war that could only be the beginning of another greater war, and more bloodshed upon his fertile valley known as the Mohawk Valley.
